Sustainable Management Policy

01

Core Concept of Sustainable Development:

Sustainable development emphasizes “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

Sustainable management integrates this concept into business operations, shifting the focus from solely pursuing profit to balancing economic, social, and environmental benefits.

02

Key Elements of Sustainable Management:

  • Environmental Protection:
Minimizing negative environmental impacts, such as reducing carbon emissions, conserving resources, and protecting biodiversity.
  • Social Responsibility:
Caring for the rights of stakeholders including employees, customers, suppliers, and communities—for example, providing a safe and healthy work environment, protecting employee rights, and giving back to society.
  • Good Governance:
Establishing a transparent, fair, and efficient governance structure, including compliance with laws and regulations, improving information transparency, and strengthening risk management.

03

Importance of Sustainable Management:

  • Enhancing Corporate Competitiveness:
Sustainability helps improve corporate image, attract investment, and increase customer loyalty, thereby enhancing competitiveness.
  • Risk Reduction:
By practicing environmental and social responsibility, businesses can reduce risks related to the environment, law, and reputation.
  • Fostering Innovation:
The concept of sustainability inspires innovation, leading to the development of eco-friendly and energy-saving products and services.
  • Achieving Long-Term Growth:
Sustainable management helps establish long-term competitive advantages and supports sustainable development.

Social Responsibility and Chemicals Management Regulations

UFC is committed to achieving excellence in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) performance. We adjust and evaluate our EHS system through “Plan-Do-Check-Act” cycle. We build with our employees a safe, healthy, and environmentally conscious workplace.

The EU Chemicals Regulation, REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization) entered into force in 2007, and countries such as Korea, China, and Japan also look to the EU REACH as a model to implement chemical regulations. UFC provides support for chemical compliance.
